Join us at the Buddy Walk
In 1995, the National Down Syndrome Society(NDSS) established the Buddy Walk to raise awareness and inclusion for individuals with Down syndrome. It has become the primary fundraiser nationally and globally for the Down syndrome community. More than 230,000 individuals participated in a Buddy Walk™ in 2007, and over 2,000,000 people have participated worldwide since its inception. Most cities will have the Buddy Walk during National Down Syndrome Awareness month each year, which is in October.
So please join us to celebrate the beauty of these Down Right Beautiful children and adults. To find a Buddy Walk near you... http://www.buddywalk.org/index.cfm/fuseaction/findawalk.walkMap

Sofia's first Buddy Walk 2007 - 6 months old
Just four weeks after her two open-heart surgeries she was still very weak and fragile, but healthy enough to attend.
Sofia's second Buddy Walk 2008 - 1 1/2 years old
We watched in amazement as Sofia took three independent steps for the very first time as she tried to get closer to the dancers on stage!!
